Morgan Township Schools – Dismissal Update
This afternoon, a fire alarm was briefly activated at Morgan Township due to steam from routine cleaning in a custodial closet. While there was no safety concern, students were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. Everyone has returned to the building, and dismissal is proceeding as normal. We’re proud to announce that East Porter County Schools ranked among the top three schools in Porter, Lake, and LaPorte Counties for Indiana’s 2025 IREAD administration.
East Porter third-grade students achieved an amazing 97.6% pass rate.
This accomplishment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, the commitment of our teachers and staff, and the incredible support from our families and community.

While demonstrating our new school safety app earlier today, a teacher accidentally activated one of the app’s emergency alert buttons. This triggered a notification through the system, but please be assured there was no safety threat at any time.

Washington Township Elementary is currently the only school that does not yet have enough enrolled students to run the YCare program for the upcoming school year. Each site must have a minimum of 15 registered students for the program to be offered.

What a fantastic finale to a week and a half of hard work, growth, and music-making! East Porter's 7th and 8th grade band students wrapped up the EPiC Summer Fun Band program with a concert that showed just how far they’ve come in such a short time.
It’s amazing what can happen in just 10 days when passionate students, dedicated directors, and a shared love of music come together. Bravo to our young musicians and thank you to everyone who came out to support them! 🎵👏

Though the State Championship didn't go our way today, our Kouts Mustangs showed incredible grit and determination right up to the final out. This season has been an unforgettable journey, filled with growth, teamwork, and so many memorable moments. We're incredibly proud of every player for their hard work and for representing our community with such spirit. The future is bright for these amazing athletes!
