As many of you know, our Key Club has been collecting clean plastic caps for the last 1 1/2 years in order to purchase the four recycled benches in the atrium. We have been given another task that we hope to be able to fulfill, and we need your help!! There is a large area outside the school between the library and the softball field that we would like to transform into a pollinator garden for local wildlife. We would like to put some curved walking paths in the area, along with more benches for people to sit on and enjoy some fresh air and beautiful flowers. We need two things:
1. Many more plastic caps! Please make sure the caps are clean (no residue inside, and no paper stickers). We need 200 pounds of caps for each bench!
2. Help with planning out the garden and pathways. We know we cannot finish the entire area with one planting, but if we have everything architecturally planned out then we can work on section after section until we are done. Do we have anyone who is experienced at planning something like this out?
Once everything is designed, we'll ask for help with sowing the seeds, edging the beds, etc. We know this will be a beautiful garden reflecting the cohesiveness of our WTS community family.
