The K14 Department at Ivy Tech Valparaiso is excited to host our Dual Credit Parents Night! This event is designed to welcome parents and students to campus to learn more about all things dual credit—courses offered at their high school, how to register, testing (if needed), transferability of courses, the Indiana College Core, and more.

This week in Biomedical Science, students were placed in a hands-on setting where they carefully examined types of evidence to uncover clues that could help solve Anna Garcia's case. One task included hair analysis, where students learned to identify and compare hair samples under microscopes to determine their origin and relevance to the crime. They also practiced fingerprint collection, gaining firsthand experience in one of the most important methods of forensic investigations. Additionally, students learned how to analyze data off a cell phone. This task involved interpreting call logs, messages, and other digital footprints, teaching them how technology can provide vital clues during criminal investigations.Through these tedious tasks students developed critical thinking skills and observational skills. This helped them gain a clearer view of what goes on in the criminal investigation world.
