Great Day for WT High School Cross Country! 1-Conference Champion 1 -Conference MVP 1 -Conference Mental Attitude Award 4 -All Conference Runners!
Middle School Cr.oss Country Runs at State
The middle school cross country team traveled to Terre Haute for the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships on the Lavern Gibson Course. Washington Township girls team placed 7th out of 60 schools led by a 2nd Place finish (3rd overall) by out of Jody Stump; 61st place finish by Annabelle Sexton and 66th place for Wimberly Scott. On the boys side, WT placed 24th out of 70 teams. Leading the way was Willy Wilk's 22nd place finish.

CO-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
The Student Athletic Advisory Committee had a tie and will be recognizing two incredible athletes as Athlete of the Week, freshman Carter Jorczak and senior Madalyn Richardson. Carter has been an inspirational teammate on the boys cross country team, constantly improving his times at meets. Carter has a great work ethic at practice every day as well. He has hit a personal record at almost every race this season and now has a shot at making the PCC All-Conference team, showing how far he's come during his very first high school season. Madalyn has been an essential part of the defensive line on the girls soccer team, leading the team to many victories and several clean sheets this season. She is also a great teammate, dedicating her time at practice to teaching new players how to be a part of the back line, making sure that the team is left in good hands next year after she graduates.
Congratulations goes out to Mr. Atwood for being chosen as a finalist for the Indiana Academic Coach of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year for the junior level. Indiana Academic Coach of the Year winners will be announced in November.
