As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, the teachers, staff, and administration of WT would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Peres, Mrs. Billings and their dedicated student council staff.
Throughout the week, teachers were treated to a taco/nacho bar, a soda/slushie bar, a Pestos catered lunch, BBQ pulled pork and chicken, donuts, pizza, breakfast egg bites, desserts, and endless unhealthy snacks.
None of this would have been possible without Mrs. Peres and Mrs. Billings's endless dedication, organization, and excellent cooking skills. Thank you, Mrs. Peres and Mrs. Billings!
Also, thank you to the many families who donated money and treats to help spoil our teachers!!
Herzlichen Glückwunsch an WTs ausgezeichnete Deutschschüler! Alex Cusson, Aliza Merritt, Ethan Moore, Hannah Ewing, Karson Kish, and Owen Payne each earned a Leistungsurkunde (Achievement Award) for scoring over the national average on this year's National German Exam.
Xander Reeve was one of 33 students in IN to earn a Silberurkunde (Silver Medal) on the Level 2 exam, and Natalie Lugar was one of eight in IN to earn the same for Level 1.
Over 16,000 students participated in the exam this year. The National German Exam, now in its 64th year, rewards students through an extensive prize program and provides a means of comparing students in all regions of the US. Angelika Becker, German Teacher at Carmel High School, Carmel, Indiana and AATG President said, “The AATG congratulates these excellent students and their outstanding performance. The results reflect not only the hard work of the individual students, but also the dedication of their teachers, the support of their families, and the school districts. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, gut gemacht!”
The 6th grade will be heading to Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana today and Friday for their yearly camping and environmental education experience! ON YOU SENATORS!!

East Porter County School Corporation, in conjunction with the Porter County Sheriff’s Office, would like to inform the public of safety training that will be taking place at Morgan Township Schools (299 S State Rd 49) on May 6, 2025. This is during the scheduled eLearning Day. The safety training will be conducted from approximately 7:30 am until 12:00 p.m. There may be an increase in police vehicles in the area and police-related activities occurring within the school. Please do not be alarmed, as the school corporation and Sheriff's Department are aware of the training taking place.
AP exams begin Tuesday, May 6th. Be sure to bring all of the necessary materials listed on your student letter, plus your fully charged Chromebook.
A wonderful, though wee-bit wet, time was had by all on the Science Club field trip to the Potawatomi Zoo on Sunday! They have quite an impressive menagerie and the Zoo Illuminate decorations really added beautiful pops of color!

Both track teams attacked their last home meet of the season last night. We had a beautiful night to celebrate our seniors. the girl's team was able to snag a victory over Boone Grove. Notable races last night inlcuded: Rebecca Martin with a season-best in high jump and Heidi Stump and Noelle Kukler with new lifetime PR's. On the boy's side, Aiden Suga and Aidan Porter both had outstanding results with 2 new lifetime PR's each.

The varsity athletic fields at WTMHS will be treated with a herbicide on Saturday, May 3. There will be no practice or activities on those fields on that day. The soccer field, baseball field, softball field, and inside of track will be treated. This does NOT include the recreation league softball and baseball fields.
Sunday our students in grades 6-12 on the East Porter County Shotgun Team met at Oakwood to compete against other schools within the league. Our team consists of students from Kouts, Morgan, and Washington Township. These students shoot 100 clay targets to get the best score out of 100. Being a part of this team allows these kids scholarship opportunities and more. Later this year they will head to state in June and Nationals in July.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch an die neuen Mitglieder der deutschen Ehrenverbindung Delta Epsilon Phi: Drew Gschwind, Kaylee Henderson, Brody Mears, Aliza Merritt, Xander Reeves, Sasha Sentoro, Catelyn Wellensiek, und Leah Wheeler.
This is the charter year of WT's membership in the Indiana Gamma Theta chapter of the National German Honor Society Delta Epsilon Phi. In order to be inducted, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and maintain an average in German of at least 87% over three consecutive semesters. Membership is a reflection of a student's interest in increasing their understanding of their own culture by learning to appreciate another. Weiter so, Senators!
Meet Quinn! She is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever certified in obedience, explosive detection, and tracking. Her handler, Officer Peiffer, serves as SRO at WT on a frequent basis. He is also a WT alumnus, class of 2015. Officer Peiffer and K9 Quinn recently completed an Advanced Military Working Dog Training course as well as a specialized Explosive Detection Course.
