On Thursday, November 29th, and Friday, November 30th, Morgan Township Middle School will be having an educator from Dunebrook visiting to deliver lessons on the topic of sexual abuse prevention. This summer a law was passed in Indiana that requires schools to provide sexual abuse prevention education to students K-12. Dunebrook, an agency serving our community, has purchased an evidence-based program titled Safer, Smart Teens, which would fulfill the state requirement for middle school students. Sara Hoyt, Public Education Coordinator at Dunebrook, will be leading the lessons. These lessons will be delivered over the course of two days (one class period each day).
A one-page overview for each of the six lessons that will be taught are available below to view. If you have any questions about the content or how you can support your child at home, please contact Sara Hoyt at email@example.com. If you have any questions that you feel would best be answered by the school, please contact our social worker, Rachel Murray at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 462-5883 ext. 1017.
