The highest level of recognition a school can receive from the Indiana Department of Education is being named a Four Star School.

To earn this distinction, schools must meet a number of criteria including high performance on the English/Language Arts and Math ISTEP and the English 10 and Algebra 1 End of Course Assessments.  You can read more about the Four Star School Program qualifications here.

Four of our six East Porter County Schools earned this distinction.  The percentage of schools in East Porter County School Corporation earning 4-Star School status (66%) is the highest of all school corporations in Porter County and among the highest of all school corporations in Northern Indiana.

Schools earning Four-Star School status for performance during the 2014-15 school year from East Porter County School Corporation include:

Kouts Elementary School

Washington Township Elementary School

Morgan Township Middle/High School

Washington Township Middle/High School

Students, staff, and parents are all deserving of congratulations for a job well done!
